Happy New Year Friends!
The ideal friendship is full of trust, laughter, love and support. We find all these things and more when we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord. God has created us for relationship with Him and others. So many times in my life I have been disappointed by friendships and I’m sure I am not alone. Where there is envy, competition, or any divisiveness true friendship suffers. We are to be friends to others as Christ has been to us. Sacrificially putting their needs above our own and encouraging a closer walk with Jesus. How do we accomplish this? By examining our personal relationship with God and appreciating His friendship to us. He is always loving, forgiving, supporting, and interceding for us. There is no better friend than Jesus, and no better example of a true friend. I am blessed to have friends like Cynthia, who pray for me and seek the welfare of others. I pray that I may become a better friend. Here are some scriptures to reflect upon:
Exodus 33:11 “So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”
Proverbs 17:7 “A friend loves at all times,And a brother is born for adversity.”
Proverbs 18:24 “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.”
