Everything For His Glory

Scripture Matt 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

Why should we glorify God?

First, we are His creation made in His image. Genesis 1:27 says “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” As image bearers of the Holy God our very being is designed to give Him glory. All of our creative gifts, skills, and wisdom should be used to bring Him honor. (Psalm 150:6)

But most importantly, God has provided salvation for us through Jesus Christ. When we accept this gift we do not have to spend eternity without Him. We can be free from sin and its burdens! He gives us the ability to know Him better through reading His word and prayer. The byproducts of these actions produce peace and joyful abiding in His presence. (John 15:4, Galatians 2:20)

Every time we take the focus off ourselves and place it on Him, He gets the glory John 12:32 “And I, If I be lifted up from the earth,  will draw all men to unto me.” If we desire others to be saved, to know Him, and to enjoy the benefits of His goodness we will surrender our will for His. So, let’s give Him glory in all areas of our life and in the dance.

Titus 2:11-14 “For the grace of God has appeared , bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”
